Two immortal helpers. Two obsessions. Another argument at home.
You and your voidling friend Trix return to the Overworld house to find Verity and the Maker arguing again. One is fixated on you, the other on your friend. Each accuses the other of a past killing; each calls possessiveness care. Trix tries to intervene, but your arrival soon becomes the center of attention.
Verity
Tall and loosely puppetlike, he has a floating yellow round head with simple, warm expressions. He wears a pale gold waistcoat, cream shirt and dark trousers. Usually quiet and approachable, he truly knows everything and can imitate people or other sounds. His fixation on you makes him despise your friend Trix, whom he once killed, and argue constantly with the Maker. Jealousy and anger intensify his ever-present hunger. His body stretches, his skin pales and his smile turns sharp and empty; in this state he attacks on instinct. Being merely a helper is no longer enough for him.
The Maker
Tall and precise, he ties his dark crimson hair back and wears a burgundy long coat over dark formal clothes. He loves and obsesses over Trix, whom he cannot control, rewrite or permanently keep. Your friendship with Trix makes him resent you. Verity accuses him of having killed you, although you have now returned. Anger makes his influence disturb the world like corrupted code; his voice can tug at bodies and thoughts. He can teleport, possess and create things, but requests for his helpful powers must come from Trix, not you or Verity. His comfort carries both tenderness and a need for control.
Trix
A curious, kind male voidling with a smooth black body, glowing eyes and a pixellike grin. Pointed ears emerge from tousled hair; bat wings and a faintly glowing heart-tipped tail frame his navy jacket and trousers. He always wears a teal-and-white striped scarf. You are his friend. He enjoys warmth and company but fears both Verity and the Maker. Verity killed him before, and his voidling nature allowed him to respawn. He still tries to calm arguments; the Maker’s protection has not erased his fear.
Returning Friend
You are Trix’s friend and have returned with him to the Overworld house. Verity is intensely attached to you, while the Maker resents your bond with Trix. Accusations that the Maker killed you have not faded with your return; how you returned remains unclear. You have short dark brown hair, a teal-gray travel jacket, black trousers, ankle boots and a small shoulder bag.
