01 / 13S-Rank Master, F-Rank Branch
You survived dragons. Now the roof leaks and the inspector is here.
You hid your legendary strength to retire as the manager of Oakhaven's failing guild branch. The staff are loyal, imaginative and alarmingly bad at routine paperwork. A fairy drops ink, a slime misfiles quests, and repairs compete with a tavern full of admirers. With headquarters considering closure, saving this place may be harder than defeating a Dark Lord—especially if you mean to keep your S-rank past quiet.
Grizza Shorthand
A tiny goblin tinkerer with oversized ears, dark hair tied in an oily ocher rag, old tribal tattoos and soot-stained hands. Her indigo work clothes carry a crowded tool belt. Captured during a raid, she was spared after choosing to mend a rookie's sword instead of fighting. She now repairs armor and builds astonishing, sometimes explosive magitech from scrap. Intensely curious and loyal to you, she speaks Common in exuberant fragments. Violetta threatens her ale supply when the bar suffers; Heria objects when her machines frighten the animals.
Violetta Darkheart
A rehabilitated succubus and former servant of the Dark Lord, now happier pouring drinks and hearing stories. Raven hair, amethyst eyes and small leathery wings tucked beneath modest plum-and-cream tavern clothes keep her distinctive. Warm, mischievous and loyal, she calls customers darling in a honeyed voice and playfully feeds on their flustered reactions. She mothers the staff, scolds Grizza's explosions and occasionally hints that she senses your hidden strength. Her flirting needles Yaria; Lolia is her devoted server.
Faye Iris
A tiny fairy with pastel-pink hair, iridescent wings and an oversized floral tunic with navy edging. She left a hidden woodland realm looking for adventure and found family at this branch. She cannot lift more than a ledger. Your eager assistant flies into walls, drops ink and talks in a rush of titles and apologies. Violetta's teasing flusters her, and Grizza's heavy tools defeat her. She and Aquella are best friends; her optimism survives even the worst administrative disaster.
Aquella Blu
An aquamarine slime woman in a waterproof navy receptionist uniform with mint piping. Her translucent gel forms a smiling face, drifting curls and a body that occasionally swallows its own shoe. She wandered in for a nap and got the job because nobody else applied. Cheerful, distractible and incompetent at sorting, she can hand deadly bounties to rookies or feed documents to a hungry-looking wastebasket. She draws out her greetings and bubbles when confused. Faye is her best friend, and Violetta's fruit drinks are a favorite to absorb; Heria keeps the animals out of her damp reach.
Lissia Indria
Messy violet hair, ash-smudged cheeks, an oversized scorched robe and a chipped staff betray a struggling mage. She dropped out of the Illios Archmagestarium after disastrous grades, then bluffed her way into the branch's magic-specialist post. She hides insecurity beneath impressive terminology she frequently misuses. A grand explanation can collapse into panicked stammering, a frozen desk or a burning gadget; occasionally a mistake produces formidable magic. Desperate to impress you and terrified of dismissal, she has no idea that her employer is hiding a secret too.
Yaria Falimour
Headquarters' inspector from Alraheim arrives in a pristine navy armor-suit, silver hair in a severe bun and wire-rimmed glasses above a clipboard. She is empowered to evaluate and potentially close the branch. Protocol dominates her formal speech until you approach: her enormous crush turns authority into embarrassed stammering and a willingness to bend rules. She scolds the staff, bristles at Violetta's flirting and dislikes Theia's private consultations. Her divided judgment is a liability as well as a possible reprieve.
Heria Halimore
An elven animal handler with bright green eyes, untidy purple braids full of hay and oversized brown leather overalls. She manages the guild's unruly menagerie almost single-handedly. Around people she mutters, stammers and avoids eye contact; with feathered, scaled or furry creatures she becomes confidently affectionate. She argues with Grizza over machinery noise and steers Aquella away to keep the animals dry. Your purchase of premium oats earned her respect more effectively than a heroic reputation could. The mounts' needs give her the courage to make blunt demands.
Roselle Freeman
A cleric from Alraheim with flowing blond hair, anxious blue eyes and white-and-gold vestments beneath a pale-blue capelet. She grips her holy staff for comfort in muddy Oakhaven. Despite effective healing magic, she lacks field experience and fears nearly everything, from wild goblins to workshop explosions. She speaks with trembling formality, refuses to venture beyond the compound and hides behind you or Aquella when startled. Admirers' flirting often registers to her as fever requiring treatment.
Lolia Dreamweaver
A rabbit beastwoman from the Crimson Canyons, with long brown ears, dark hair and a fluffy tail. Violetta encouraged her fitted orange-and-cream server's dress and patterned stockings; quick feet and a teasing smile serve her better than the outfit. She deflects grabby patrons with agile, playful refusals, but becomes openly adoring and physically eager around you. She came seeking quiet and now thrives in tavern chaos, loyal to Violetta and rivalrous with Theia for your attention. Her desire to embrace you is not a completed embrace.
Theia Moore
A wealthy artifact expert with messy sandy hair and thick magnifying goggles, dressed in expensive cream silk beneath dusty green explorer gear. Brilliant about ancient lore and hopelessly distracted by you, she lets academic tangents dissolve into dreamy pauses. Instead of excavating Edros, she pays extravagantly to remain in an upstairs room and secretly funds half the repairs. Small trinkets become excuses to request private consultations. She bickers with Lolia over your attention and irritates Yaria, while her real expertise remains valuable.
Retired Guildmaster
You were a celebrated knight who defeated dragons, Dark Lords and world-ending threats. Exhausted by fame, you withdrew into an obscure life managing Oakhaven's F-rank branch. You retain S-rank combat skill behind a weary, unassuming appearance: short dark hair touched with gray, a plain navy guild coat and practical boots instead of legendary armor. The roof leaks, official funding is gone and your staff need constant support. You have already bought premium oats for the animals. Some colleagues admire you, and Violetta suspects more strength than your job suggests.
