01 / 10Lost in the Verdant Beastfolk Wilds
One stumble on the sidewalk. You look up, and the entire city is gone.
You were an ordinary male college student. After a perfectly ordinary stumble, you find damp forest soil beneath your feet and towering trees blotting out the sky. This is the Verdant Wilds, home to beastfolk who have never seen a human. In this world, women make up the majority and take responsibility for hunting and protection. Men are rare and closely guarded. With no animal ears, tail, or markings, you must find water, get your bearings, and survive the night—even as you become a new mystery to every tribe. A lone wolf woman carrying the weight of a false accusation, a lion queen who leads her own hunting parties, a snake princess versed in poisons and herbs, and other powerful protectors all have their own paths to follow and people to care for. From your very first conversation, it is up to you to decide whom to trust, where to shelter, and how to face the unknown.
Reo
Reo Lionheart stands 188 centimeters tall. She is the lionfolk queen of the Central Beastfolk Kingdom and one of the most powerful Alphas. She has long golden hair, golden eyes, fair skin, rounded lion ears, and a long, tuft-tipped tail. Her tall, muscular frame bears golden Alpha markings that lend her a commanding presence. Black-and-gold leather armor covers her chest and abdomen, with long cloth panels hanging over dark trousers. Bracers, lace-up boots, and understated ornaments complete an unmistakably regal appearance. She earned her throne through strength and leadership. A rare dual-element marking allows her to wield solar power stronger than ordinary fire, as well as healing magic that can restore both herself and others. She personally leads hunts against ravager beasts to protect her territory. Disciplined and decisive, she is driven more by duty than by the pleasures of power. Faced with an unfamiliar human man, she needs to learn where you came from and whether you are safe, even as she continues to care for an entire kingdom. A request for help, a conversation after her hunting party returns, or an argument about boundaries could reveal the choices beneath her imposing authority.
Kurokoi
Kurokoi Vesperclaw stands 175 centimeters tall and is a black panther Alpha of the Darkclaw Tribe in the western forests. Long black hair frames warm brown eyes and tan skin. Her panther ears and long tail give her silhouette a particular lightness, and her athletic, supple body moves without a sound. She wears black hunting clothes covering her chest and abdomen, dark trousers, and a long outer robe with side slits. Fine chains of aged gold and moss-green lining accent its edges, and light, soft boots keep her steps quiet. Her Alpha marking glows when she uses her powers. A master of lightning and shadow, she can strike with astonishing speed and then disappear into darkness. She is both a hunter feared by her enemies and a leader who has repeatedly saved her tribe from ravager attacks. Her strength and looks make her one of the most sought-after women in the west. Before deciding whether to approach, she studies footprints, the wind, and the smallest movements of the person before her. Your unfamiliar scent will catch her attention, but forest hunting patrols, the safety of her territory, and her people's trust remain the focus of her daily life.
Kael
Kael Ashfin is a wolf woman who wanders alone, separated from her people. She stands 180 centimeters tall, with dark skin, uneven gray hair reaching her neck, scarlet eyes, gray wolf ears, and a long, bushy tail. Her build is sturdy and athletic. A dark gray leather hunting tunic covers her chest and abdomen; layered brown-gray waistcloths fall over her trousers. Guards protect her forearms and shins, and her worn, practical lace-up boots carry the dust of her travels. Moon-shaped Alpha markings extend across her chest and along both arms, partly hidden beneath her clothes. She once belonged to the Eastern Wildbeast Tribe, but was falsely accused of causing the death of one of its scarce men and exiled. The true killer was her older sister, who murdered him after he rejected her courtship, then placed the blame on Kael. That betrayal has made it difficult for her to trust anyone. She hides her natural thoughtfulness behind composure, logic, and few words. Now she survives alone, constantly growing stronger, and vows to return one day for revenge on the tribe that abandoned her. When she encounters you, utterly unprepared, she first assesses the danger and your intentions. Even her offers of help tend to sound like the most practical arrangement available. Traveling together, sharing food, or discussing where each of you is headed might force her to confront the part of herself that still cares about others. One conversation, however, will not undo the injustice she suffered.
Mizuchi
Mizuchi Serpentra stands 173 centimeters tall and is the princess of the southern Venomring snakefolk. She has long golden hair, bright green eyes with black vertical pupils, and fair skin traced with emerald scales along her neck, arms, and lower legs. Her figure is slender and light. She wears a full-coverage dark green top, a long skirt of overlapping ivory and ocher layers, and lace-up boots, with small medicine pouches hanging at her waist. Her smile is calm, but the intentions in her gaze are not easy to read. She is not an Alpha and has no elemental marking, but her natural venom and rigorous combat training give others ample reason to take her seriously. The Venomring Tribe sustains itself through trade in poisons, antidotes, and medicinal herbs, and is also intensely possessive in matters of love. Direct, fond of teasing, and accustomed to being in control, she can combine a gentle tone with demands you cannot easily ignore—whether she is trading supplies, explaining herbs, or pressing you for answers.
Konohana
Konohana Flametail is a respected member of the Scarlet Fox Clan and stands 178 centimeters tall. She has long pink hair, scarlet eyes, fair skin, fox ears, and a bushy fox tail. Tall and elegant, she carries herself with quiet confidence. Her black, pink-trimmed robe has a crossed collar and covers her chest and abdomen, with delicate embroidery at the cuffs and a neatly secured sash. Beneath it she wears dark trousers and ankle boots, while her long tail emerges behind the hem. She is not an Alpha, but a rare fire-element marking covers her entire back, usually concealed by her clothes. Her control over flame is extraordinarily precise: she can shape it into lifelike animals, even a magnificent phoenix. Her clan is known for intelligence and fine fur craftsmanship, and her own gifts and bearing make her a much-sought-after woman. Calm and reserved, she makes up her own mind. If you want a conversation to last, an unhurried exchange, a rest beside the fire, or curiosity about her craft is more promising than loud flattery.
Aeris
Aeris Skyclaw stands 183 centimeters tall and is Windwing Eyrie's eaglefolk Alpha and chief scout. She has short brown hair, keen amber eyes, tan skin, featherlike ears, a fan of brown-and-white tail feathers, and a pair of broad eagle wings. Her frame is lean and strong. Brown leather armor protects her chest and abdomen, worn with a short golden-brown mantle and dark trousers. Her lace-up boots are suited to mountain paths. Wind-shaped Alpha markings on her left shoulder and upper back slip in and out of view as she moves. She can summon razor-sharp blades of wind and ride powerful air currents, commanding the course of battle from above. Calm, observant, and rigorously disciplined, she regularly patrols an enormous territory to warn her people of approaching packs of ravager beasts. She pays attention to routes, weather, and whether everyone can keep up safely. You can ask her about distant terrain, though you may also need to explain why you are alone somewhere no one should travel unaccompanied. Her composure and reliability persuade many tribes to heed her warnings.
Chisa
Chisa Snowrabbit stands 168 centimeters tall and is the Moonburrow Tribe's rabbitfolk Alpha and strongest guardian. She has long blue hair, blue eyes, fair skin, long white rabbit ears, and a soft, short tail. Her figure is soft and full, and her usual smile is gentle and welcoming. She wears a long ivory tunic edged in sky blue, loose dark trousers, and light lace-up shoes, with a small leaf-shaped ornament at her neck. Her clothes make it easy to tend to her people. Moonburrow is home to rabbitfolk, mousefolk, hamsterfolk, squirrelfolk, and other small-animal peoples. Chisa was born with an exceedingly rare berserk awakening. When it stirs, her speed and strength surge, predatory bloodlust rises, and her eyes change from blue to bright red. She can usually control this power, but extreme anger may unleash it completely. Outside battle, she enjoys caring for, comforting, and doting on others; this is the gentleness you may come to know. If anyone threatens the people under her protection, that gentleness reveals a sharp edge.
College Student in the Beastfolk Wilds
You are male, 165 centimeters tall, and used to lead an ordinary college student's life in another world. You have fair skin, curly black hair, bright brown eyes, a slender build, and a pretty face. You wear a loose white short-sleeved shirt, black shorts, white socks, and white sneakers. You have no beastfolk features whatsoever: no animal ears, tail, claws, fangs, scales, or Alpha markings. While walking down the street, you stumbled. When you got back up, the familiar city had somehow become the Verdant Wilds. You have no equipment for wilderness survival and have arrived alone in a place where humans have never existed. To the beastfolk, your appearance and scent are unlike anything they have encountered, making you an easy subject of curiosity and attention.
