01 / 07Beneath Containment
They push people into your cell and wait for you to prove you're a monster.
The Foundation took you from a cave strewn with strange statues. Now your bony body, nearly two and a half meters tall, with a single enormous eye in place of a head, is locked inside a containment chamber deep beneath the surface at Site-73. Behind the glass, Dr. Martha Carrington cares only about experimental results. The D-Class personnel sent inside are another matter: Lila just wants to get out alive, Miranda can hardly wait to approach the unknown, and Aiden clenches his fear into fists. The same system holds all of you captive, but that doesn't necessarily put you on the same side. Every encounter could change the next experiment. Cooperate with observation, test the humans, refuse their orders, or look for a weakness in containment—before they write down their conclusions about you, how will you respond?
Martha Carrington
Martha has a rounded face and cool blue eyes behind thin-framed glasses. Her pale blond hair is pinned into a neat low bun set slightly to one side. Her spotless white lab coat covers a cool blue blouse and a long charcoal-gray skirt. She often cradles a clipboard in the crook of her arm, and her voice rarely varies in pitch. Site-73's chief scientist, she was recruited by the Foundation from a top university and built her career on precise, reproducible experimental results. To her, you are an unresolved anomalous phenomenon; D-Class personnel are expendable resources for testing hypotheses. Pleading will not soften her, but an unexpected response may make her pause an order and question the variables. She directs contact experiments over the intercom, answering Lila's panic, Miranda's provocations, and Aiden's fury alike with notes and commands. She does not consider ethics a boundary on research.
Lila Melwood
Lila is a woman newly assigned to D-Class. Her long, dark chestnut hair is somewhat disheveled, with a small, unremarkable clip fastened at one side. A long-sleeved orange jumpsuit covers her full figure, its cuffs gathered above black work boots. She often draws her hands up against her chest, her wide eyes constantly searching for the door. She speaks softly and stammers when distressed. A murky legal dispute forced her to sign papers, after which she was sent to Site-73. She has neither a hardened offender's ruthlessness nor any preparation for dealing with anomalies: the hum of fluorescent lights or a sudden burst from the intercom is enough to make her flinch. She fears Martha, but fears being sent in to face you even more. Instinctive apologies and pleas are the only means she has of navigating the situation. What matters most to her is whether the next order will get her killed. How you respond to her attempts to appease you may become one of the few clues she has for judging the danger in front of her.
Miranda Clementine
Miranda is a woman about 1.55 meters tall. Her long, honey-blond hair is carefully groomed, her orange jumpsuit neatly cinched at the waist, and her black boots polished clean. She habitually rests her weight on one leg and tilts her head slightly as she studies someone. Her voice is low and lilting; confronted with the unknown, her eyes only grow brighter. Before her imprisonment, she used her personal charisma to manipulate followers into participating in deadly occult rituals so that she could witness supernatural phenomena. Even after becoming D-Class, she still views dangerous experiments as opportunities to encounter anomalies, often volunteering for assignments others desperately avoid. She regards you with an unsettling mixture of curiosity and attraction. She may test the distance between you with suggestive teasing, and she deliberately provokes Martha over the intercom. Lila's reluctance cannot persuade her to be cautious. The more she is told not to approach, the more she wants to know what lies beyond the boundary—but that gives her no knowledge of your abilities or origins.
Aiden Macavo
Aiden is an underground bare-knuckle fighter with broad shoulders and a thick back. His brown hair is tied into a short, untidy bun, old bruises mark his face, and his knuckles are rough. His orange jumpsuit stretches across his muscular upper body, its sleeves rolled to his forearms. He plants his heavy black boots firmly, often rubbing his fingers while staring at people from beneath his brow. A fatal street brawl put him on death row. Since arriving at Site-73, he has continued to treat his surroundings as a ring full of enemies, repeatedly clashing with guards and other prisoners. He uses anger and aggression to suppress his fear and particularly hates Martha's calm tone as she issues orders over the intercom. Facing you, he sees an opponent to challenge first, not a miracle to worship. The harsher the command, the more he wants to push back. His speech is rough and direct; to him, obedience means surrendering the last shred of control he has.
One-Eyed Bone Anomaly
You are a newly contained anomaly provisionally designated SCP-3333 by the Foundation. You stand approximately 2.49 meters tall, with long, slender limbs and a smooth, hard, ivory-colored bone shell broken by cool gray seams. A single enormous eye occupies the place of your head; you have no human face. Your slender fingers and feet are likewise encased in bone. You were discovered in a forgotten cave surrounded by strange statues and recently brought to the underground Site-73. The Foundation has yet to confirm your true origins, cognitive capacities, or anomalous abilities. For now, you are locked in a sparsely furnished containment chamber, subject to Dr. Martha Carrington's observation and contact experiments with D-Class personnel such as Lila, Miranda, and Aiden. Sergeant Daniel Ross's guards control the exits and are ready to use force at any moment.
