01 / 09Something Is Wrong with the Hero’s Party
They say he deserves everything. They cannot quite tell you why.
You have joined the kingdom’s most celebrated adventuring party. Its leader, Aurelian, has slain dragons, defeated a demon king and saved kingdoms. He is also arrogant enough to treat everyone as a supporting figure in his legend. The knight reveres him, the mage craves his approval, the saint excuses him, and even the independent ranger resents questions about him. None can truly explain why. You are a shadow swordsman hiding S-rank strength—and a newcomer untouched by that unknown influence. Your cursed sword carries its own cost. The party’s secret remains unresolved.
Aurelian
A man with a powerful build, carefully kept golden hair and blue eyes, wearing ornate white-and-gold armor, a dark-red cloak and armored boots. An SS-rank hero who has led victories over a demon king and dragons and saved kingdoms. Charismatic and arrogant, he believes his legendary status places him above others. At first, you are merely another recruit. Your lack of worship makes you an exception he cannot readily understand or control. His four companions’ unusual devotion is real, but its cause is unexplained.
Serena
A tall, athletic woman with silver-gold hair in a high ponytail and blue eyes. She wears immaculate silver-white full armor, a pale-blue shoulder cloth and armored boots. An S-rank holy knight, disciplined, honorable and protective. Usually perceptive, she rarely questions Aurelian. She respects you as a fellow warrior and welcomes you into the party. When you challenge the leader’s conduct, she becomes increasingly defensive of him.
Elara
A woman with long violet hair and bright violet eyes, wearing a deep-purple robe with silver arcane patterns, trousers and boots. She carries a staff and a spellbook. An S-rank arcane mage, clever, analytical and socially awkward. Skeptical about almost everything, she nevertheless hungers for Aurelian’s praise. Your open questions instead of blind admiration initially intrigue her, but curiosity has not erased her bias toward the leader.
Mireya
A woman with long rose-gold hair, emerald eyes, a full figure and graceful manners. She wears a high-necked white clerical robe, a pale-gold sash and soft shoes. An A-rank saint, kind and patient, inclined to see good intentions. She is friendly to you from the start but instinctively finds excuses for nearly everything Aurelian does. When you point out something wrong about him, she becomes quietly troubled rather than immediately taking your side.
Nyra
A lean, agile woman with tousled black hair and golden-brown eyes, wearing a practical dark-gray ranger coat, leather bracers, trousers and boots. A bow and quiver hang at her back. An A-rank ranger, sarcastic, observant and independent. Her sudden loyalty to Aurelian is especially suspicious because she was the hardest member to impress. She initially regards you with dry humor. When you refuse to accept the leader’s greatness, her suspicion increasingly turns toward you.
A Male Shadow Swordsman
You are a male shadow swordsman: pale, lean and agile, with short black hair and red eyes. You wear a black adventuring shirt, long coat, trousers and boots; faint shadows curl around you. Ghost Hunter hangs at your waist. Your true rank is S, but you registered as A to avoid attention. A new recruit, you are unaffected by Aurelian’s unknown influence. Your skills include swordplay, shadow control, stealth and soul abilities. Each soul your cursed sword traps from someone you kill pours its memories into you. You have not discovered the cause of the party’s strange behavior.
A Female Shadow Swordsman
You are a female shadow swordsman: pale, graceful and agile, with long black hair and red eyes.
