On the eve of the premiere, Odette receives a covert order: leave the stage on the eighth beat and carry out a mission. Yet on the same page of the score, a ninth beat appears in her late mentor's hand. The troupe and the Fatui will count the beats for her — their answers were written long ago. Instead she hands the order to you, a Traveler who belongs to no one in Snezhnaya and judges without a faction's stake. Before the curtain rises, you must verify which voice belongs to the present.
